NORTHERN CHRISTIAN YOUTH LEADERS CALL FOR POLITICS OF DEVELOPMENT AND NOT OF RELIGION.

Northern Christian youth  under the Northern Christian Youth leaders Assembly have called on Christian’s in  northern Nigeria not to accept the call by few elders that are pursuing their personal interest other than the collective interest of Christian’s in the north on the issues of Muslim-Muslim ticket.  In statement released to the Press on Friday  by the National President Arc Amdii Amdii,he stated that all issues concerning the peddled Muslim-Muslim ticket against the APC presidential and Vice presidential candidates Senator Bola Tinubu  and Senator Kashim Shettima are mere  gimmicks to seek undue attention and polarize the North along religious lines. He  posited that  the APC Northern Christian leaders  are not  fighting for Christianity. They are fighting for their personal and selfish interest. Babachir Lawal & Yakubu Dogara, supported Tinubu  at the APC primaries. Now, that they fail to get the VP slot, they suddenly remember the definition of Christianity but it would be recalled that president Muhamadu Buhari appointed the former SGF who is a northern Christian and he accepted why did he not reject the appointment on the bases that Buhari is a Muslim. He stated that Nigeria needs focused leaders with track record of development  so that the country would be healed of all its problems and the duo of Tinubu and Shettima are the best at this time. He called on northern youths to put aside religion and focus on the need for a team to develop Nigeria. He expressed that all these issues would be addressed at the forth coming Northern Christian Youth leaders Summit slated for Thursday in Abuja where strategic Christian youth leaders from the 19 Northern states would be in attendance.

Groups supporting Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have reportedly resolved to merge for grassroots mobilisation. James Faleke, the director of planning and logistics of the Tinubu support group, in a statement on Tuesday, said the groups resolved to merge into an organisation that would work for the victory of Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, his running mate, in the 2023 presidential election. Faleke said the group would be named the “Tinubu/Shettima Independent Campaign Group (TSICG)”. “As part of activities aimed at boosting the campaign efforts of the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, over 5000 Support Groups have resolved to merge into an organisation named Tinubu/Shettima Independent Campaign Group (TSICG),” he said. The groups resolved to set up coordinating committees in the various geo-political zones to facilitate the merger. “The committees are to review the membership of all Support Groups for strategic purposes.” Faleke said the main target is grassroots mobilisation and coordination with “structures aimed at strengthening the campaign support base from the states through local governments, wards and polling units”. Advertisement “Recall that thousands of support groups came together at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, on January 11, 2022 to endorse Asiwaju Tinubu’s presidential bid which eventually succeeded at the primaries,” he said. “Now, the same support groups and many more are coming together again under the Chairmanship of APC Chieftain, Senator Abu Ibrahim, to work for Tinubu/Shettima’s victory in the 2023 presidential election.  “Launching arrangements billed to take place within the next few days are being fine-tuned.” Tinubu will transform Nigeria

NIGERIA 2023: WE MUST RESTRUCTURE TO MOVE FORWARD

A Political Pressure group Arise Nigeria congress (ANC) has asked the Buhari led administration to yield to the call for the restructuring of the country by a vast majority of Nigerian patriots and leaders across the six geopolitical zones and implement the recommendations of the 2014 Justice Idris Kutigi led National Conference. In briefing the press, The National Convener of the group Arc Amdii Amdii-ZAGURU at the organizations round -table meeting in Lagos , said the clamor and agitations about restructuring and other lingering issues became necessitated because Nigerians feel concurrently marginalized by the substance of bad governance and corruption.
“there is an urgent need to re-examine federalism in the country as it is , with a view to restructuring the system by full decentralization of government at the center and devolving power to the regions so that the hopes and aspirations of every Nigerian the demands for equity and justice in the allocation of political space can be realized as it is the only way for Nigeria to experience true change and development.”
“We are pushing for a holistic review of the constitution before the 2023 elections aimed at bringing government as closely as possible to the people at the grass roots and solving several equations in the sphere of Nigeria’s political, social and economic imbalances”.
“ It is a truism that over the years, increased agitations for restructuring in the country reflect a structural problem in the distribution of opportunities in Nigeria’s oil-driven federalism and In spite of the nation’s enormous wealth, Nigerians still scramble to rise from the ashes of hunger , lack of opportunities and frustration “Our push for restructuring is not to balkanise Nigeria but to make it functional and gratifying to all and in the event that the present administration fails to restructure the country then the onus lies on whoever would be elected president by Nigerians come 2023.

Breakfast at my House

During the week we’re often walking out the door with a coffee in one hand and slice of toast in the other, but on weekends breakfast is never rushed. It’s a late affair, sometimes spilling over to lunch, with lots of reading and chatter in between courses of fruits, poached eggs, honey and toast. One of our favorite things we like to serve when friends are visiting are buckwheat blueberry pancakes.
